Zero the Hero
This adorable bear visits our class every 10 days until the 100th day of school.  He brings with him a special Math activity for us to do.   He reminds us of the special job of the number 0.  It's important to never leave it out.
Here are some photos from Zero the Hero's visit to our classroom.
The students each had 20 whale crackers.  We grouped them by 2's, 5's and 10's.  Then ate them as an afternoon snack.

Zero came to school on the 50th day.  We colored a turkey and added 50 reinforcement holes to his feathers.
On the 60th day, Zero brought a snack to school....mini doughnuts!
On the 70th day of school, we made birdfeeders using 60 cheerios and 10 fruit loops.
On the 80th day, we colored 8 sets of ten onto the number 80.  Students colored dots, snowflakes, stars and hearts.

On the 90th day, we each wrote 5 things we love on a sentence strip.  Miss Jury then compiled them into a list of the 90 things we love.
