How to Make Tea

Fill a tea kettle with fresh water and set on stove to boil. While you wait, run hot water from the faucet into your teapot to warm it up. Your tea will stay hot longer if you do this. When the boiling water is ready, empty your teapot and add your teabags or tea filled infuser. Use two or three teabags for four people. Pour the boiling water carefully into your teapot and wait 5 minutes, then remove teabags.

Bridal Tea Party Ideas

-For our party favors, we placed 2 tea bags, 2 decorated sugar cubes, a few cinnamon sticks and a paper that said Love is Brewing inside an organza bag.  Small paper roses were tied to the top of the bag as a finishing touch.

--Another party favor would be a tea cup and saucer for each guest to take home with her.  Flea markets and garage sales are a great place to find them.

--Our invitations were printed on floral paper and mailed out 3-4 weeks in advance.  This is the poem included on the invitation:
Tea, scones and little flowers,
All that’s needed for a bridal shower.
Biscuits and cookies will be on the tray,
We’ll toast it all with a little Earl Grey.
Wear a hat and boa, if you please,
And stop on by to have a spot of tea
To help us celebrate our lovely bride-to-be.

--
Ask guests to wear hats and boas to have a true Victorian tea atmosphere.

--Use fresh flowers for your centerpiece, to accent the cake and the napkin rings.

--As a special gift, present the bride-to-be with her own tea set.
