A Peek Inside Room 207
When students complete their morning work, they have an opportunity to do other things in the classroom.  In this picture a student is "Reading the Room" with a pointer from our Read the Room pail.  Children may also "Write the Room", read in our library, work with discovery bottles or work with a Math File Folder activity.
Every morning when students arrive they answer a Question of the Day.  They use their apple cut-outs to graph their answer to the question.  We then talk about the results of our poll during Math for Everyday Calendar time.
This is a photo of our Mathwings baskets.  Our math program, Mathwings, is based on cooperative learning.  The students use the materials in the baskets to work with partners and/or their teams to complete hands-on Math activites.  On this day, the bags were filled with 5 yellow cubes and 5 brown cubes.  Students then pulled 5 random cubes and recorded the part-part-total combination for their pull.

As part of our Success for All Reading program, students use partner practice books to review our current sounds and words.  This is a picture of two students practicing their words and sounds.
