Announcements for the week of March 8, 2010

--Students are to report to the classroom immediately upon arrival, if not eating breakfast, or immediately after breakfast each morning.  Students must be in their  homeroom by 9:20 a.m. or they will be marked tardy.

--This week, we will begin a unit on Verbs.  We will write everyday.     In Math, we will continue our new unit on Adding and Subtracting.    Be sure to practice Math Facts with your child to improve his fluency.  We will be learning about Liquids and their properties this week in Science.

~We welcome Miss Miller to our class.  She will be doing her Primary Student Teaching with us for the next 8 weeks. 

~Be sure to read for 20 minutes a night with your child.  It will make a difference in their reading and writing success.  Find out more here:

~Please remember to sign your child's weekly behavior chart each Friday.

~If your child is absent, please be sure to send in an excuse the day of his/her return to school.

We are in need of tissues, Clorox wipes  and hand sanitizer for classroom use.  Any donations would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you to the families who have already donated tissues, wipes and sanitizer!

--The Box Tops for Education program is asking you to send in your box tops.  The class that collects the most will get a party!   Box Tops will be collected by the PTA this week.   Also, if you sign up at http://www.boxtops4education.com/Default.aspx
East Side will earn additional Box Top points.
